Delete your account

We value your privacy. Learn how to delete your Homegenii account and what happens to your data.

Recommended: Delete within the App

The fastest and most secure way to delete your account is directly inside the Homegenii app. This instantly validates your identity and queues your data for deletion.

  1. Open the Homegenii app on your mobile device.
  2. Go to the Control Center (the rightmost tab).
  3. Scroll down to the Preferences section.
  4. Tap the Delete Account option.
  5. Follow the prompts to confirm your identity and choose whether to delete your entire household or just leave it.

🕒 24-Hour Cooling Period

Once requested, your account is immediately scheduled for deletion. To prevent accidental data loss, there is a 24-hour cooling period. Signing back into the app before this period ends will automatically cancel the deletion request.

Data Retention & Deletion Policy

When you delete your account, here is how we handle your personal and household data:

Permanently Deleted

  • Your personal user profile (name, preferences, authentication records)
  • Your direct messages and AI assistant chat history
  • If you are the sole admin/member: All calendar events, meal plans, recipes, tasks, and shopping lists associated with your household

Retained / Shared Chores

  • Shared calendar events or tasks created by you that other members are still active on (so their schedules remain intact)
  • General household ledger history (e.g. audit log of completed group chore events) to maintain team calendar integrity
  • Note: Active family admins can wipe all household data at any time from their family hub settings page.
