Privacy Policy
Homegenii is a shared household-organization service operated by Homegenii (“Homegenii,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, retain, and protect personal information when you use the Homegenii mobile application, progressive web application, websites, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
Our Commitment
- No Selling: We do not sell your personal information.
- No Ads: We do not use your information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Minimization: We collect only the information needed to provide and improve Homegenii.
Homegenii is designed for collaboration. Information added to a shared Household may concern and be visible to several people. Please read the Household Sharing section carefully.
1. What Information We Collect
We collect only information reasonably needed to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service.
Account and Profile Information
We may collect your name, display name, email address, user ID, sign-in method, profile photograph, Household membership, role, permissions, invitations, and preferences. Optional profile information may include dietary restrictions, allergies, preferred cuisines, disliked ingredients, and cooking preferences.
If you sign in through an authentication provider, we receive identifiers and authentication tokens needed to sign you in. We do not receive your provider password.
Household Content
We process information that you or another authorized Household member adds to the Service, including:
- Chores, tasks, assignments, completion status, and notes.
- Shopping lists, pantry items, quantities, categories, and restocking information.
- Meal plans, recipes, ingredients, images, favorites, and cookbook content.
- Calendar events, dates, times, descriptions, locations, reminders, recurrence details, and source information.
- Household announcements, activity records, notes, and other collaborative content.
Free-form fields may contain personal or sensitive information. Do not enter information that is unnecessary for the feature you are using.
Important Family and Safety Information
If you choose to use these features, Homegenii may process birthdays, telephone numbers, emergency-contact details, medical notes, dietary restrictions, allergies, safety check-in status, place labels, notes, and precise latitude and longitude.
Location is requested only when you choose to attach your current location to a safety check-in. You may deny location permission and enter a place manually. Homegenii does not use location for advertising or continuous background tracking.
AI Assistant Information
When you use the AI Assistant, we process your prompt, recent conversation context, the limited Household context needed for your request, generated responses, proposed actions, confirmations, action receipts, and limited usage and security information. Do not submit passwords, payment credentials, government identifiers, or information that is unnecessary for your request.
Integrations and Notifications
If you connect an external calendar, we may process calendar identifiers, authorization tokens, synchronization status, subscription URLs, and event content. Google Calendar connections may support reading and writing events. iCalendar subscriptions are read-only.
If you create a private Homegenii calendar-feed URL, anyone who obtains that URL may be able to read the events exposed through it. Keep the URL confidential.
If you enable notifications, we process a device push token, notification preferences, and information needed to deliver reminders.
Device, Network, and Local-Storage Information
We may process app version, platform, device type, language, time zone, network status, IP address, request times, security events, rate-limit records, error information, and diagnostics needed for reliability and abuse prevention.
The Service stores credentials in platform-protected secure storage, and keeps preferences, cached Household content, pending offline changes, and recent Assistant content in browser or device storage. Protect your device with an appropriate screen lock.
2. Where Information Comes From
We receive information:
- Directly from you.
- From another Household member or administrator who invites you, assigns tasks, or adds information about you.
- From your device when you grant permission or use a feature.
- From authentication providers and external services that you choose to connect.
- Automatically from Service requests, security controls, and operational logs.
If you provide information about another person, including a child or dependent, you confirm that you have legal authority to do so.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Create and manage accounts and Household memberships.
- Provide chores, tasks, shopping, pantry, meals, recipes, calendars, safety check-ins, and other requested features.
- Synchronize information across devices and support offline use.
- Provide AI-assisted responses and proposed actions.
- Connect services that you choose to authorize.
- Deliver reminders and notifications that you enable.
- Authenticate users, enforce permissions, prevent abuse, and protect the Service.
- Respond to support requests and diagnose reliability problems.
- Comply with legal obligations and valid legal process.
4. Household Sharing
A Household is a shared workspace. Depending on roles and visibility settings:
- Household members may see shared tasks, lists, pantry content, meals, recipes, events, announcements, check-ins, and member information.
- Household administrators may invite or remove members, assign roles, and manage permissions.
- Important information such as birthdays, emergency contacts, dietary restrictions, allergies, and safety check-in status may be visible to other members.
- Activity records show who created or changed shared content.
Join only Households whose members you trust. Homegenii does not control how other members use information they are legitimately permitted to view.
5. AI Assistant
Homegenii uses trusted AI service providers to process prompts and the limited context required to execute features. Our current AI providers (such as Google Cloud GenAI) are listed on our public Subprocessors page at https://homegenii.app/subprocessors.
Homegenii does not use private Household content to train public or general-purpose AI models and does not authorize its AI providers to do so. AI providers process content only to provide requested features under applicable API terms.
AI responses are generated automatically. Review important proposals (like date shifts or shopping changes) before confirming them. The Assistant is not a substitute for professional judgment.
6. Integrations and Service Providers
We use service providers for cloud hosting, authentication, content delivery, notifications, application reliability, AI processing, and other infrastructure required to operate Homegenii. Our current subprocessor list, including provider purpose and processing location, is available at https://homegenii.app/subprocessors.
We may also disclose information:
- To professional advisers and contractors subject to confidentiality obligations.
- To comply with law, valid legal process, or enforceable government requests.
- To protect users, investigate abuse, secure the Service, or enforce our Terms.
- During a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale, subject to confidentiality.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Homegenii uses browser storage, application storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, cache information, queue offline changes, and maintain essential security and operational state. Refer to our Cookie Policy for details.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, Household-scoped permissions, restricted service credentials, and rate limits. Homegenii does not claim that Household content is end-to-end encrypted. Protect your device, credentials, and private calendar-feed URLs.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain security, comply with law, or resolve disputes.
- Account and Profile Information: while your account remains active and during the account-deletion process.
- Household Content: while the Household exists or until an authorized user deletes it.
- Connected-Service Information: while the integration remains connected.
- AI and Operational Records: for limited periods (detailed plans and action receipts are removed after 90 days; aggregate usage is retained for 400 days).
- Backups: until they expire through our normal 30-day backup lifecycle.

Shared Household content may remain with direct account attribution removed to maintain collaborative schedules and lists.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, or object to certain processing.
Account deletion is available in the app and at https://homegenii.app/account-deletion. For other privacy requests, email privacy@homegenii.app with the subject "Privacy Request." We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
11. Children and Dependent Information
Homegenii accounts are intended for adults. Children must not create or independently operate an account. A parent or legal guardian may add limited information about a child or dependent for Household coordination (e.g. chores or dietary restrictions). If we learn that a child created an account without required authority, we will restrict or delete it.
12. International Transfers
Homegenii and its service providers may process information outside your country. Where required, we use recognized safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and data-processing agreements. Provider locations are listed at https://homegenii.app/subprocessors.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when our practices or laws change. We will update the “Last updated” date and provide notice for any material changes.
